“Generally poor organisation improved significantly over the final two days”

Posted by sporgunlugu 16 Ekim 2009, Cuma

Başlıktaki cümle, Büyük Britanya kafilesinden Graham Watts‘a ait.

Dünya Şampiyonası’ndaki aksaklıkları ABD’li eskrimci Tim Morehouse ve Büyük Britanyalı Graham Watts‘ın iletilerinden öğrendim. Bunları sizinle paylaştım. Önce bloga yazmaya başladım. Ara verince, Twitter üzerinden yayınladım. Belki bunları takip etmişsinizdir.

Bu iletileri aşağıda bulacaksınız.

Mustafa Kalender İngilizce biliyor mu? Bilmiyorsa, biri onun için tercüme edebilir.

Aşağıdaki iletilerdeki sorunların FIE’den kaynaklandığı iddia edilecektir. Eminim.

I’ve just read that one can buy a beer for 2 euros on the buses transporting athletes to the fencing world championships how thoughtful!

More problems with scratched fencers. Poules held up and look likely to be changed. You would have thought this could have been resolved after yesterday’s problems - this is my 16th world championships and I don’t recall problem being so difficult before.

Martina Emanuel has been standing on the piste for 15 minutes waiting for her first bout to begin – just not good enough – very unprofes …

Emanuel now has a different opponent – 15 minutes after her previous fight should haved started !

Chris Buxton is still in the poules many hours after being correctly withdrawn at both DT & FIE- says a lot about the organisation here!

When the scoring system goes wrong the information is replaced by the sponsors name, which means that the sponsor is associated with failure! Clever.

The Kazak fencer lost his first fight against a fencer he wasn’t expecting to fence until the minute he showed up on the piste

The Canadians have been placated by the random transfer of a Kazakstani fencer into CBs place!

It is chaos – Kruse and Khovansky fight moved to outside piste wothout warning. Kruse was late but Khovansky arrived without kit !

Scoring system not working in L16 of world championships – you couldn’t make it up ! what a fares. Should have said FARCE !

The whole Tissot scoring system has just packed up so we are watching L16 fights with no idea of the score

this event has been appallingly organised – it shows fencing up to be a totally amateur sport!

opening ceremonies now for TV. they are moving Kurt’s match to a back strip…like a rain delay. this match will finish an hour after start. both fencers are laying on the floor sleeping now.

Getz/ZHU MATCH HAS NOW BEEN MOVED TO An outside non-wireless piste and is going on at the same time as a noisy opening ceremony.

Uzmanov is making a speech while a quarter final bout is going on at the side of the finals hall. For a competition that is lasting 3 days longer than any other it is amazing that they are still fencing while the opening ceremony is going. I bet Mr Uzmanov doesn’t even know this is happening!

I wonder what the sense is in buses going to the hotels 5 minutes before the finals have finished!

However there is nothing about the disorganisation of this event that would surprise me anymore.

Event now an hour behind schedule the FIE DT have really excelled themselves in inefficiency here

Golubitski and Jeon have to move pistes due to equipment problems.

Place still buzzing with talk about a medal match taking place while the opening ceremony was going on!

The organisation here has been dire – timetables and rules are routinely disregarded. This world championships must surely rival Cuba in 2003 for its overall ineptitude

The FIE are saying that today will run smoothl But only by cutting wireless down to semi finals only! Let’s hope it will run to time – it is day 8 of the world championships after all!

Kardeş biz ordaydık ve görevliydik. Yapılan hatalar FIE’nin hatasıydı.Yöneticiler yabancıydı Türk değil. Her söylenen doğru olsa ohoo!!! Önce kendimizi küçümsememeyi öğrenelim. Onların müsabakalarında hiç mi aksaklık olmuyor sanki. Youtube’den izleyinde görün. Etraftaki aletler bile son sistem. Boş konuşmayın………
